RESUMO

Transmetalation of the bis{triethylantimony(V)}-capped iron(II) tris-α-dioximate with n-butylboronic acid afforded the mixed antimony, boron cross-linked clathrochelate with single reactive antimony(V)-based apical fragment. This macrobicyclic precursor easily underwent the transmetalation reactions with germanium and titanium(IV) alkoxides to give the rod-like and angular FeII2MIV-trinuclear bis-clathrochelates. Those of the aforementioned diantimony(V)-capped complex with 3- and 4-carboxyphenylboronic acids afforded the monoboron-capped iron(II) semiclathrochelates, undergoing a double-cyclization (macrobicyclization) with germanium- and titanium(IV)-based capping agents. The reactions in the low-temperature range unexpectedly gave the stable 2:1 associates, formed by the bridging of two carboxyl-terminated macrobicyclic molecules of the mixed carboxylboron, triethylantimony-capped iron(II) clathrochelate with a triethylantimony(V)-based linker fragment. The obtained complexes were characterized using elemental analysis, MALDI-TOF, 1H and 13C{1H} NMR and UV-vis spectra, and single-crystal XRD experiments. The encapsulated iron(II) ion in their 3D-molecules is situated almost in the center of its FeN6-coordination polyhedron possessing a truncated trigonal-pyramidal geometry. Fe-N distances fall in the range 1.887(7)-1.945(4) Å characteristic of the low-spin iron(II) complexes. The cross-linking titanium and germanium(IV) ions in the corresponding bis-clathrochelate molecules form the octahedral MIVO6-coordination polyhedra, the MIV-O distances of which vary from 1.946(2) to 1.964(2) Å and from 1.879(7) to 1.907(6) Å, respectively.

RESUMO

Coupling of photoswitching with dynamic covalent chemistry enables control of the formation and cleavage of covalent bonds by light irradiation. peri-Aryloxyanthraquinones feature an exclusive ability to switch electrophilicity by interconversion between para- and ana-quinone isomers, which was used for the first time for the implementation of a dynamic C-O bond. Photogenerated ana-isomers undergo a concerted oxa-Michael addition of phenols to give hitherto unknown 4-hydroxy-10,10-diaryloxyanthracen-9-ones. These species were found to be in equilibrium with the corresponding ana-quinones, thus forming a dynamic covalent system of a new type. Withdrawal of the colored ana-quinones from the equilibria by visible light irradiation resulted in two para-quinones with "locked" aryloxy groups.

RESUMO

Abiraterone acetate (AbirAc) is the most used steroidal therapeutic agent for treatment of prostate cancer. The mainly hydrophobic molecular surface of AbirAc results in its poor solubility and plays an important role for retention of abiraterone in the cavity of the receptor formed by peptide chains and heme fragments. In order to evaluate the hydrolytic stability of AbirAc, to modify its solubility by formation of new solid forms and to model bonding of this medication with the heme, a series of d-metal complexes with AbirAc was obtained. AbirAc remains stable in water, acetonitrile, tetrahydrofuran, and ethanol, and readily interacts with dications as a terminal ligand to create discrete complexes, including [FePC(AbirAc)2] and [ZnTPP(AbirAc)] (H2PC = phthalocyanine and H2TPP = 5,10,15,20-tetraphenylporphyrine) models for ligand-receptor bonding. In reactions with silver(I) nitrate, AbirAc acts as a bridge ligand. Energies of chemical bonding between AbirAc and these cations vary from 97 to 235 kJ mol-1 and exceed those between metal atoms and water molecules. This can be indicative of the ability of abiraterone to replace solvent molecules in the coordination sphere of biometals in living cells, although the model [ZnTPP] complex remains stable in CDCl3, CD2Cl2, and 1,1,2,2-tetrachloroethane-d2 solvents and decomposes in polar dimethylsulfoxide-d6 and methanol-d4 solvents, as follows from the 1H DOSY spectra. Dynamics of its behavior in 1,1,2,2-tetrachloroethane-d2 were studied by ROESY and NMR spectra.

RESUMO

Our research area is related to the spiropyrazolinium-containingcompounds, which are insufficiently studied compared with pyrazoline-containing compounds. Nitrogen-containing azoniaspiromolecules have also been well studied. In drug design and other areas, they are a priori important structures, since rigid spirocyclic scaffolds with the reduced conformational entropy are able to organize a closely spaced area. Azoniaspirostructures are currently of wide practical interest as ionic liquids, current sources (membranes), structure-directing agents in organocatalysis, and in the synthesis of ordered ceramics. Our goal was the synthesis of 2-aminospiropyrazolilammonium chlorides and hexafluorophosphates. Our methodology is based on the tosylation of ß-aminopropioamidoximes with six-membered N-heterocycles (piperidine, morpholine, thiomorpholine, and phenylpiperazine) at the ß-position. 2-Aminospiropyrazolilammonium chlorides and hexafluorophosphates were obtained by the reaction of double ion substitution in the reaction of toluenesulfonates of 2-aminospiropyrazolinium compounds with an ethereal solution of HCl in ethanol and with ammonium hexafluorophosphate in ethanol in quantitative yields of 55-97%. The physicochemical characteristics of the synthesized compounds and their IR and NMR spectra are presented. The obtained salts were additionally characterized by the single-crystal XRD analysis. The presence of both axial and equatorial conformations of spirocations in solids was confirmed. 2-Aminospiropyrazolilammonium chlorides and hexafluorophosphates have weak in vitro antimicrobial activity on Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacterial lines.

RESUMO

Polymorphism is a common phenomenon among single- and multicomponent molecular crystals that has a significant impact on the contemporary drug development process. A new polymorphic form of the drug carbamazepine (CBZ) cocrystal with methylparaben (MePRB) in a 1:1 molar ratio as well as the drug's channel-like cocrystal containing highly disordered coformer molecules have been obtained and characterized in this work using various analytical methods, including thermal analysis, Raman spectroscopy, and single-crystal and high-resolution synchrotron powder X-ray diffraction. Structural analysis of the solid forms revealed a close resemblance between novel form II and previously reported form I of the [CBZ + MePRB] (1:1) cocrystal in terms of hydrogen bond networks and overall packing arrangements. The channel-like cocrystal was found to belong to a distinct family of isostructural CBZ cocrystals with coformers of similar size and shape. Form I and form II of the 1:1 cocrystal appeared to be related by a monotropic relationship, with form II being proven to be the thermodynamically more stable phase. The dissolution performance of both polymorphs in aqueous media was significantly enhanced when compared with parent CBZ. However, considering the superior thermodynamic stability and consistent dissolution profile, the discovered form II of the [CBZ + MePRB] (1:1) cocrystal seems a more promising and reliable solid form for further pharmaceutical development.

RESUMO

A multistep general synthetic strategy towards polytopic carboranyl-containing (semi)clathrochelate metal complexes, based on the template synthesis, transmetallation, amide condensation and 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reactions, is developed. Their mono(semi)clathrochelate precursors with a single reactive group were obtained using a transmetallation of the triethylantimony-capped macrobicyclic precursor. The thus obtained carboxyl-terminated iron(II) semiclathrochelate underwent a macrobicyclization with zirconium(IV) phthalocyaninate to form the corresponding phthalocyaninatoclathrochelate. The direct one-pot template condensation of the suitable chelating and cross-linking ligand synthons on the Fe2+ ion as a matrix was also used for its preparation. Further amide condensation of the aforementioned semiclathrochelate and hybrid complexes with propargylamine in the presence of carbonyldiimidazole gave the (pseudo)cage derivatives with a terminal CC bond. Their "click" reaction with an appropriate carboranylmethyl azide afforded the ditopic carboranosemiclathrochelates and the tritopic carboranyl-containing phthalocyaninatoclathrochelates with a flexible spacer fragment between their polyhedral entities. The obtained new complexes were characterized using elemental analysis, MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry, multinuclear NMR, and UV-vis spectroscopy, and by single crystal X-ray diffraction experiments. Their FeN6-coordination polyhedra show a truncated trigonal-pyramidal geometry, while the cross-linking heptacoordinate Zr4+ or Hf4+ cations in the hybrid compounds form the MIVN4O3-coordination polyhedra with the geometry of a capped trigonal prism.

RESUMO

The nature and strength of interactions for an anti-HIV drug, Lamivudine, were studied in a pure crystal form of the drug and the ligand-receptor complexes. High-resolution single-crystal X-ray diffraction studies of the tetragonal polymorph allowed the drug's experimental charge density distribution in the solid state to be obtained. The QM/MM calculations were performed for a simplified model of the Lamivudine complex with deoxycytidine kinase (two complexes with different binding modes) to reconstruct the theoretical charge density distribution. The peculiarities of intramolecular interactions were compared with previously reported data for an isolated molecule. Intermolecular interactions were revealed within the quantum theory of 'Atoms in Molecules', and their contributions to the total crystal energy or ligand-receptor binding energy were evaluated. It was demonstrated that the crystal field effect weakened the intramolecular interactions. Overall, the energies of intermolecular interactions in ligand-receptor complexes (320.1-394.8 kJ/mol) were higher than the energies of interactions in the crystal (276.9 kJ/mol) due to the larger number of hydrophilic interactions. In contrast, the sum of the energies of hydrophobic interactions was found to be unchanged. It was demonstrated by means of the Voronoi tessellation that molecular volume remained constant for different molecular conformations (250(13) Å3) and increased up to 399 Å3 and 521(30) Å3 for the Lamivudine phosphate and triphosphate.

RESUMO

Fast crystallization of the monoclathrochelate cobalt(II) intracomplex [Co(Cl2Gm)3(BAd)2] (where Cl2Gm2- is a dichloroglyoxime dianion and BAd is an adamantylboron capping group, 1), initially obtained by the direct template condensation of the corresponding chelating α-dioximate and cross-linking ligand synthons on the Co2+ ion as a matrix, from benzene or dichloromethane afforded its structural triclinic and hexagonal polymorphs. Its prolonged recrystallization from dichloromethane under air atmosphere and sunlight irradiation unexpectedly gave the crystals of the CoIIICoIICoIII-trinuclear dodecachloro-bis-clathrochelate intracomplex [[CoIII(Cl2Gm)3(BAd)]2CoII] (2), the molecule of which consists of two macrobicyclic frameworks with encapsulated low-spin (LS) Co3+ ions, which are cross-linked by a µ3-bridging Co2+ ion as a bifunctional Lewis-acidic center. The most plausible pathway of such a 1 → 2 transformation is based on the photoinitiated radical oxidation of dichloromethane with air oxygen giving the reactive species. Cobalt(II) monoclathrochelate 1 was found to undergo a temperature-induced spin crossover (SCO) both in its solutions and in the solid state. In spite of the conformational rigidity of the corresponding quasiaromatic diboron-capped tris-α-dioximate framework, the main parameters of this SCO transition (i.e., its completeness and gradual character) are strongly affected by the nature of the used solvent (in the case of its solutions) and by the structural polymorphism of its crystals (in the solid state). In the latter case, the LS state (S = 1/2) of this complex is more thermally stable and, therefore, the cobalt(II)-centered 1/2 → 3/2 SCO is more gradual than that in solutions.

RESUMO

2-Amino-1,5-diazaspiro[4.5]dec-1-en-5-ium salts possess bioactivity tuned by the nature of the heteroatoms in the six-membered ring and the counter-ion. The molecular environment of these cations in solids provides an opportunity to establish the conformations and hydrogen-bonding patterns typical for this family. ß-Aminopropioamidoxime tosylation products [2-amino-1,5-diazaspiro[4.5]dec-1-en-5-ium tosylates and the product of the O-tosylation of ß-(benzimidazol-1-yl)propioamidoxime, namely, 2-amino-1,5-diazaspiro[4.5]dec-1-en-5-ium tosylate, C8H16N3+·C7H7O3S- (6), 2-amino-8-oxa-1,5-diazaspiro[4.5]dec-1-en-5-ium tosylate, C7H14N3O+·C7H7O3S- (7), the monohydrate of 7, C7H14N3O+·C7H7O3S-·H2O (7a), 2-amino-8-thia-1,5-diazaspiro[4.5]dec-1-en-5-ium tosylate, C7H14N3S+·C7H7O3S- (8), 2-amino-8-phenyl-1,5,8-triazaspiro[4.5]dec-1-en-5-ium tosylate, C13H19N4+·C7H7O3S- (9), and 3-(1H-benzimidazol-1-yl)-N'-(tosyloxy)propanimidamide, C17H18N4O3S (10)] were investigated using X-ray diffraction to study peculiarities of their molecular geometry and intermolecular interactions. In vitro antitubercular and antidiabetic screening of the ß-aminopropioamidoxime tosylation products was also carried out. It was revealed that this series of compounds does not have activity against drug-sensitive and multidrug-resistant M. tuberculosis strains, and exhibits high and moderate antidiabetic α-amylase and α-glucosidase activity. Using the hydrogen-bond propensity tool, we found that the inclination of counter-ions and atoms to act as acceptors of hydrogen bonds for the amino group decreases passing from tosylate O atoms to water molecules and the N atoms of five-membered rings. This fact is probably the reason for the formation in the solids of hydrogen-bonded tetramers consisting of two anions and two cations, and the rare occurrence of 2-aminospiropyrazolinium salt hydrates.

RESUMO

Condensation of 1,5-disubstituted pent-1-en-4-yn-1-ones with arylhydrazines in acidified alcohol results mainly in the formation of the corresponding arylhydrazones with traces of the side products of cyclization at the double bond - 1,5-diaryl-3-(arylethynyl)-4,5-dihydro-1H-pyrazoles (pyrazolines). Arylhydrazones are cyclized only by refluxing in high-boiling polar solvents (DMF and ethylene glycol), with the selective formation of 1,5-disubstituted 3-styrylpyrazoles in up to 77-95% yields. Thermodynamically, the cyclization of arylhydrazones at the triple bond is the most preferable pathway, as shown by DFT calculations and preparative synthesis experiments. Thus, we demonstrate that the reactions of arylhydrazines with 1,5-disubstituted pent-1-en-4-yn-1-ones lead to the formation of arylhydrazones and side pyrazoline impurities in a parallel (not consecutive) manner. 2-Hydrazinylpyridine interacts with 1,5-disubstituted pent-1-en-4-yn-1-ones in some other way, giving not pyridinylhydrazones but 2-(5-styryl-3-phenyl-1H-pyrazol-1-yl)pyridines (despite the acidity of the medium). The authors have developed a gram-scale synthesis method for these compounds, which were obtained in up to 60-82% yields. Besides, we have developed the synthesis method for certain styrylpyrazoles, which are quite promising substances for use as fluorescent probes. Their spectral-luminescence characteristics were examined as well as their complexing with Hg2+, Cd2+, and Pb2+ ions.

RESUMO

Nitrobenzenesulfochlorination of ß-aminopropioamidoximes leads to a set of products depending on the structure of the initial interacting substances and reaction conditions. Amidoximes, functionalized at the terminal C atom with six-membered N-heterocycles (piperidine, morpholine, thiomorpholine and phenylpiperazine), as a result of the spontaneous intramolecular heterocyclization of the intermediate reaction product of an SN2 substitution of a hydrogen atom in the oxime group of the amidoxime fragment by a nitrobenzenesulfonyl group, produce spiropyrazolinium ortho- or para-nitrobenzenesulfonates. An exception is ortho-nitrobenzenesulfochlorination of ß-(thiomorpholin-1-yl)propioamidoxime, which is regioselective at room temperature, producing two spiropyrazolinium salts (ortho-nitrobezenesulfonate and chloride), and regiospecific at the boiling point of the solvent, when only chloride is formed. The para-Nitrobezenesulfochlorination of ß-(benzimidazol-1-yl)propioamidoxime, due to the reduced nucleophilicity of the aromatic ß-amine nitrogen atom, is regiospecific at both temperatures, and produces the O-para-nitrobenzenesulfochlorination product. The antidiabetic screening of the new nitrobezenesulfochlorination amidoximes found promising samples with in vitro α-glucosidase activity higher than the reference drug acarbose. 1H-NMR spectroscopy and X-ray analysis revealed the slow inversion of six-membered heterocycles, and experimentally confirmed the presence of an unfavorable stereoisomer with an axial N-N bond in the pyrazolinium heterocycle.

RESUMO

Hybrid metallo(IV)phthalocyaninate-capped tris-dioximate iron(II) complexes (termed as "phthalocyaninatoclathrochelates") with non-equivalent apical fragments and functionalized with one terminal reactive vinyl group were prepared for the first time using three different synthetic approaches: (i) transmetallation (capping group exchange) of the appropriate labile boron,antimony-capped cage precursors, (ii) capping of the initially isolated reactive semiclathrochelate intermediate, and (iii) direct one-pot template condensation of their ligand synthons on the iron(II) ion as a matrix. The obtained polytopic cage complexes were characterized using elemental analysis, 1H NMR, MALDI-TOF MS and UV-vis spectra, and the single-crystal X-ray diffraction experiments. One of the obtained vinyl-terminated iron(II) phthalocyaninatoclathrochelates and its semiclathrochelate precursor were tested as monomers in a copolymerization reaction with styrene as the main component. These vinyl-terminated (semi)clathrochelate iron(II) complexes were found to be successfully copolymerized with this industrially important monomer, affording the intensely colored copolymer products. Because of a low solubility of the tested zirconium(IV) phthalocyaninate-capped tris-nioximate monomer in styrene as a solvent, a molar ratio of 1 : 500 was used. The obtained copolymer products and the kinetics of their formation were studied using GPC, FTIR, UV-vis, TGA and DSC methods. Even at such a low concentration of the Fe,Zr-binuclear metallocomplex component, an increase in the rate of the UV-light degradation of the organo-inorganic products, as well as in their thermal stability, was observed.

RESUMO

The reaction of ß-(thio-morpholin-1-yl)propio-amidoxime with tosyl chloride in CHCl3 in the presence of DIPEA when heated at 343 K for 8 h afforded the title hydrated salt, C7H14N3S+·Cl-·H2O, in 84% yield. This course of the tosyl-ation reaction differs from the result of tosyl-ation obtained for this substrate at room temperature, when only 2-amino-8-thia-1,5-di-aza-spiro-[4.5]dec-1-ene-5-ammonium tosyl-ate was isolated in 56% yield. The structure of the reaction product was established by physicochemical methods, spectroscopy, and X-ray diffraction. The single-crystal data demonstrated that the previously reported crystal structure of this compound [Kayukova et al. (2021). Chem. J. Kaz, 74, 21-31] had been refined in a wrong space group. In the extended structure, the chloride anions, water mol-ecules and amine groups of the cations form two-periodic hydrogen-bonded networks with the fes topology.

RESUMO

Hexacoordinated heteroligand silicon catecholates, although being prospective as easily soluble compounds with high hydrolytic stability and diverse redox properties, have been insufficiently studied. The transesterification of 1-(trimethoxysilylmethyl)-2-oxohexahydroaze or N-methyl-N-(trimethoxysilylmethyl)acetamide by two equivalents of catechol derivatives in the presence of dicyclohexylamine afforded a series of target compounds in good yield. The complexes were characterized using elemental analysis, FTIR, 1H, 13C and 29Si NMR spectra, X-ray crystallography and cyclic voltammetry. X-ray diffraction confirmed that the silicon atom possesses the octahedral geometry of the SiCO5 polyhedron that remains unchanged in solution as it follows from 29Si NMR data. The compounds demonstrated up to three oxidation waves; and the reduction profile strongly depended on the nature of the substituents on a catecholate anion.

RESUMO

Kinetics and thermodynamics of the template synthesis and of the acidic decomposition of the methylboron-capped iron(II) tris-1,2-dioximates-the clathrochelate derivatives of six (nioxime)- and eight (octoxime)-membered alicyclic ligand synthons-were compared. In the case of a macrobicyclic iron(II) tris-nioximate, the plausible pathway of its formation contains a rate-determining stage and includes a reversible formation of an almost trigonal-antiprismatic (TAP) protonated tris-complex, followed by its monodeprotonation and addition of CH3B(OH)2. Thus, the formed TAP intermediate undergoes a multistep rate-determining stage of double cyclization with the elimination of two water molecules accompanied by a structural rearrangement, thus giving an almost trigonal-prismatic (TP) iron(II) semiclathrochelate. It easily undergoes a cross-linking with CH3B(OH)2, resulting in the elimination of H+ ion and in the formation of a macrobicyclic structure. In contrast, the analogous scheme for its macrobicyclic tris-octoximate analog was found to contain up to three initial stages affecting the overall synthesis reaction rate. The rates of acidic decomposition of the above clathrochelates were found to be also affected by the nature of their ribbed substituents. Therefore, the single crystal XRD experiments were performed in order to explain these results. The difference in the kinetic schemes of a formation of the boron-capped iron(II) tris-nioximates and tris-octoximates is explained by necessity of the substantial changes in a geometry of the latter ligand synthon, caused by its coordination to the iron(II) ion, due to both the higher distortion of the FeN6-coordination polyhedra, and the intramolecular sterical clashes in the molecules of the macrobicyclic iron(II) tris-octoximates.

RESUMO

A synthetic strategy for obtaining structurally flexible hybrid iron(II) carboranoclatrochelates functionalized with biorelevant groups, based on a combination of a 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reaction with nucleophilic substitution of an appropriate chloroclathrochelate precursor, was developed. In its first stage, a stepwise substitution of the dichloroclathrochelate precursor with amine N-nucleophiles of different natures in various solvents was performed. One of its two chlorine atoms with morpholine or diethylamine in dichloromethane gave reactive monohalogenoclathrochelate complexes functionalized with abiorelevant substituents. Further nucleophilic substitution of their remaining chlorine atoms with propargylamine in DMF led to morpholine- and diethylamine-functionalized monopropargylamine cage complexes, the molecules of which contain the single terminal C≡C bond. Their "click" 1,3-cycloaddition reactions in toluene with ortho-carborane-(1)-methylazide catalyzed by copper(II) acetate gave spacer-containing di- and tritopic iron(II) carboranoclatrochelates formed by a covalent linking between their different polyhedral(cage) fragments. The obtained complexes were characterized using elemental analysis, MALDI-TOF mass, UV-Vis, 1H, 1H{11B}, 11B, 11B{1H}, 19F{1H} and 13C{1H}-NMR spectra, and by a single crystal synchrotron X-ray diffraction experiment for the diethylamine-functionalized iron(II) carboranoclathrochelate. Its encapsulated iron(II) ion is situated almost in the center of the FeN6-coordination polyhedron possessing a geometry intermediate between a trigonal prism and a trigonal antiprism with a distortion angle φ of approximately 28°. Conformation of this hybrid molecule is strongly affected by its intramolecular dihydrogen bonding: a flexibility of the carborane-terminated ribbed substituent allowed the formation of numerous C-H…H-B intramolecular interactions. The H(C) atom of this carborane core also forms the intermolecular C-H…F-B interaction with an adjacent carboranoclathrochelate molecule. The N-H…N intermolecular interaction between the diethylamine group of one hybrid molecule and the heterocyclic five-membered 1H-[1,2,3]-triazolyl fragment of the second molecule of this type caused formation of H-bonded carboranoclathrochelate dimers in the X-rayed crystal.

RESUMO

The title compound, C23H19BrN4O2, is a product of an azo coupling reaction between 3,4-bis-(4-meth-oxy-phen-yl)imidazole and 4-bromo-phenyl-diazo-nium tetra-fluoro-borate. Its crystal structure was determined using data collected at 120 K. The mol-ecule adopts a trans configuration with respect to the N=N double bond. The imidazole and aryl rings attached to the azo linkage are coplanar within 12.73 (14)°, which indicates significant electron delocalization within the mol-ecule. In the crystal, the mol-ecules form centrosymmetric dimers via pairs of N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

RESUMO

The cyclocondensation of cross-conjugated enynones, dienynones, and trienynones (easily available due to low-cost starting compounds) with arylhydrazines leads to the regioselective synthesis of pyrazole derivatives (dihetaryl-substituted ethens, buta-1,3-diens, and hexa-1,3,5-triens) or results in 4,5-dihydro-1H-pyrazoles in good yield. The reaction path is controlled by the character of the substituent in enynone: the pyrazoles are obtained from the reaction of substrates that contain five-membered heteroaromatic substituents with arylhydrazines, and the 4,5-dihydro-1H-pyrazoles are obtained from the reaction of 1,5-diphenylpent-1-en-4-yn-3-one with arylhydrazines consistently. Despite the presence of a substituent, cyclocondensation of 2-hydrazinylpyridine with all of examined cross-conjugated enynones leads to the formation of pyrazoles. The reaction does not require special conditions (temperature, catalyst, inert atmosphere). The cyclocondensation pathways are determined by the electronic effect of an electron-rich five-membered heteroaromatic ring in the substrate. The synthesis allows use of various substituents and functional groups in enynone and hydrazine. The present method features high yields and simplicity of the product purification. The obtained pyrazoles possess fluorescent properties with a quantum yield up to 31%.

RESUMO

Hydroxyisophthalic acids are valuable polytopic ligands for the design of functional materials based on coordination polymers due to the variety of charges and coordination modes they possess. Herein, we describe the synthesis, thermal stability, nonlinear optical (NLO) and spectroscopic properties of five novel coordination compounds, [K2 L(H2 O)2 ], [MgL(H2 O)2 ] ⋅ 3H2 O, [CaL(H2 O)3 ], [SrL(H2 O)3 ] ⋅ H2 O, [BaL(H2 O)(H2 O)5 ], and one salt, (NH4 )2 L ⋅ 2H2 O, with 4,5,6-trihydroxyisophthalic acid (H2 L), which has not been tested in assembling crystalline coordination networks before. The peculiarities of the structural organization of the compounds were analyzed and compared with those for other hydroxyisophthalates. The coordination properties of hydroxyisophthalic acids were studied from the topological point of view, and a comparative topological analysis of coordination and H-bonded networks was performed. Structural correlations revealed in this study could be useful for the design of hydroxyisophthalate-based coordination networks, including porous metal-organic frameworks, proton conductors, and NLO materials.

RESUMO

Arylazoimidazoles are important dyes which were intensively studied in the past. In contrast, triarylazoimidazoles (derivatives which carry aryl substituents at the imidazole core) received almost no attention in the scientific literature. Here, we report a new family of simple and easily accessible triarylazoimidazole-group 12 metal complexes, which feature highly efficient photo-luminescence emission (Φ up to 0.44). Novel compounds exhibit bright red emission in solution, which could be excited with a visible light.
